Hello,
We are experiencing some storage performance issues, and are trying to understand what may be happening. Our SAN guys have presented a new LUN that is replicated from one location to another. We are seeing high latency on that LUN after I created a VMFS partition on it, and in our troubleshooting are wondering if the process of creating the file system on that LUN touched every block - which would in-turn force the storage infrastructure to re-sync with it's mirror.
Not really trying to troubleshoot the performance issue in this thread, just wanting to understand if we need to adjust our processes as best practice (ie - create vmfs before turning on replication)
We are currently running ESX 3.5 u4.
Thanks!
