Disk Space not being cleared after file deletion

I went to remove a virtual disk from a VM but the system came up with an error. So I went into the datastore and deleted it manually but the disk space is not being cleared. It still looks like the virtual disk is there even though I deleted it. It's like ESX is not clearing the space or something.

Has anyone run into this and how do you get it to clear the disk space?

Thanks,

Rich

It sound like you only deleted the config file .vmx or the descriptor file servername.vmdk and not the actual data file servername-flat.vmdk.

What excactly did you delete? is there still a folder for the server...?

Try using WinSCP software...From where are you checking the free space?

I ended up just deleting the whole VM and starting over. That freed the space up but it still stinks that I didn't find the real answer. Just don't have time to mess with it today.

Thanks for the ideas!

What version of the client and VC server? Upgrading to 2.0.2 seems to have cleared this problem up for me.
