ESX and USB

Hello,

I am trying to understand the reason why ESX does not support USB devices natively. There were couple brief posts about vMotion issues but could someone clarifies this for me? Also, if the issue is vm migration, do all virtualization products that allow live migration have this issue? Thanks for your help.

I can't say I know the reasons why USB is not supported in ESX, but I have sucessfully hooked up USB devices to VMs under ESX 3 using USB Over Network:

It's very simple to use and pretty cheap.
