Recreate whole network config

Hello everybody!

Due to 0 Byte free on my / drive I lost the whole ESX Server configuration.

I was able to recreate initrd etc. But the networksettings are still lost.

Playing around with esxcfg-vmknic etc. don´t help me to solve the problem.

Is there a script etc. to reset the whole settings to default?

I use esx 3.01without nay patches. Please help!

Andreas

There is no script to reset them to defaults that I know about, but you could use something like this tool to change them however you like. http://www.run-virtual.com/?page_id=160

Hello Andreas,

There are no 'defaults' as you state (default state is unconfigured). You will need to recreate them. You can use the VIC or the SC to do this. If your /etc/vmware/esx.conf file still exists you can use that as the basis for your recreation. If that does not then you really are starting from scratch.

Best regards.

Edward
