This is my first time using openfiler on a separate server as a NAS. This is also my first time configuring ESX other than installing it. I have 2 ESX 3.5 servers I am trying to connect to a NAS in Virtual Center Server. Vcenter server console can see the NAS and "target" on the first ESX but not the second...
I dunno if I have the network configured right in the VC Server or what I am doing wrong.
This is pretty much the directions I followed:
I think I mistakingly named one NAS alias a .com and one a .local. I am also choosing to use the same virtual switch. Is this ok? What might I be missing?
p.s this site wont let me upload a darn screenshot to show you.
You might be looking for a problem in the wrong place. Openfiler will have an ACL for the target IIRC. Are both initiators listed as having access to target on Openfiler?
no. access is good.
Hello,
Go to the second ESX host and enable iSCSI and then point it to the OF system. It should just work. If not then try to vmkping and ping the OF system. SC must participate in the same network.
