rpmq on ESX3 server?

We have a fairly new ESX server that is currently running at over 90% utilization - I looked in top and the process that is eating up all the CPU is rpmq, which was kicked off (apparently) by the cron.daily script.

Thing is, I can't see a) why this would be enabled, b) how to turn it off, and c) is it ok if I just kill the process?

It seems to have been sat there for a good 12 hours doing very little (the server is in a test cluster: I just need to know how to react if I get this in a live environment).

sorry to reply to myself, but I think this may be something to do with VCB - we ran some VCB scripts on the server the previous day. Since I rebooted the server the rpmq thing hasn't run again - so I'll just chalk this one down to experience Smiley Happy
