We have a Proliant DL380 G4. On the array controller (SA 6400), it shows an alert stating "Firmware Version : not set" I've never seen this before. We verified the firmware was the most recent from HPs site.
Any suggestions? Everything's running fine (Other than the battery we just replaced and is also showing unknown.)
Are you using the HP version of ESXi? Do you have ILO firmware up to date?
There are some CIM issues with the HP version and ESXi not reporting correctly "proc hot" being one of them. This could be a similar issue.
Good thought, but no go. We are using the HP version of ESXi, and used the HP firmware CD to update everything on the box.

There are issues with HP CIM agents. We use HP AMD based servers. There are erroneous error reporting
on processor temp. There are issues with HP agents and ESX 4 U1 Is this another.
Beyond that any log information. Have you used ILO to see if everything shows up correctly?
Processor temps seem fine (Intel boxes here) We’re still running ESXi 3.5. We have several G5s and a G6 on 3.5 and 4.0 without issue.
The only log info I see is on the ILO. Not much there, but it is showing in the logs that the battery condition is low and that’s it (The IML doesn’t show corrections, at least not on the G4 ILO.) I wish I could get to a management webpage like we do on the machines running the physical HP agents.

I wasn't suggesting that the proc hot issue was a symptom or that you might have it just that there appears to be several issues with the HP monitoring modules not reporting correctly.
You can actually get the web interface to ILO. G4s have more unlicensed access than G5 and G6's if I remember. If you have licensed ILO you get a fair bit of access.
