IBM SYSTEM X3650 supportivity with ESXI??

Hi guys,

i tried googling and have come across articles that says that IBM SYSTEM x3650 is not supported by ESXI? If it is not supported, does anyone out there have a solution that i can actually install esxi on ibm system x3650. In advance, i like to thank you guys for the help

It may be that IBM/VMware have just not bothered to certify the system. Others have tried the server - http://communities.vmware.com/message/1014312;jsessionid=7947498803BC4231DDEC53ACAA01B532.

Thanks for the help. Will like to clarify on this error message that i have got from the installation wizard while it is initializaing the devices: Here the error message goes:

The installation operation has encountered a fatal error:

Uable to find a supported device to write the VMware esx server 3i 3.5.0 image to.

Can you post the model of storage controller and also the PCI id - http://www.vm-help.com/esx/esx3i/find_PCI_ID.php?

Hi guys,

thanks for the help. The error is actually triggered because my hard disk is spoilt. so it could'nt detect. sorry bout the troble. Smiley Happy

I've been running ESXi U2 and U3 on x3650 for 6 months or so now without any problems. I just built two more ESXi boxes on 3650's with Dual dualcore and 12GB RAM systems with the IBM Specific ESXi ISO and have had no issues as well. I've been averaging 7 VM's per system as well with good results.
