Lose Display on Sun 4150 once VMWare boot sequence begins

Have been unable to find a solution to this so far. Using a Sun 4150 with a crossover cable into the serial management port, able to get to the LOM, perform all commands, once I enter the console, the boot sequence begins, I see the ESX Server version 3.5.0 screen, then, display is lost and keyboard seems to echo keycodes back, unable to get display back. Anyone know what's going on here and why the ESX boot sequence/screen can not be displayed through a 9600 serial connection?

it expects a vga console.

you could try editing the syslinux command to 'text'....that often works with RHEL builds

Welcome to the VMware Community forums. Are you using ESX 3.5 or ESXi?

Thank-you, we are using 3.5, enjoying the product so far, however not being able to get to the initial command line is a bit disconcerning. These are remotely managed headless systems. We would like to deploy many more if we can get this working. :smileymischief:
