Running 64Bit OS?

Hello

I just succesfully installed a ESXi server. Very smooth.

I found out that i needed to enable VT in BIOS, but sadly after i installed ESXi.

So my question is, do I need to reinstall ESXi to support VT or should it work by now?

And if it works, where to enable my Guest as 64bit?

Thanks in advance

Nicolai

It should work now (don't need to re-install after you have enabled VT). You don't have to do anything to "enable" a guest as 64 bit, just pick the correct Guest OS type when creating a new VM (there are different Guest OS types for 32 and 64 bit) and then install using the 64 bit media for the OS...

No, you do not need to reinstall anything. Just enable VT in the BIOS and you are good to go.

Enable VT and reinstall is 2 different case. Enable VT provide the VT capable from the microprocessor which promise for better delivery of performance on virtualization. From VMware point of view, you need the VT enable to provision any 64 bits client. Therefore, just reboot your ESX and enable the VT from BIOS will be good enough.
