VMWare ESX Server 3i Licensing

Hi,

i downloaded VMWare ESX Server 3i 3.5.0 free from VMWare site..Do i need to buy any host/processor license if i need to create a few VMs? I went through the guide but i dont really understand how the licensing works.....hope someone could explain in more details....

i did activated this product and given a license serial number...currently my ESX 3i is in evaluation mode....

You just need to enter your free serial number in Configuration / Licensed features when you connect to your ESXi using VI Client.

You don't have to buy a license.

Simply register for a free license (http://www.vmware.com/download/esxi/getesxi.html).

When you signed up for the download, you should have gotten a serial number or email with link to generate one. Take that and go to Configuration \ Licensed Features. Click edit and enter the serial number.
