Hello,
In the tab "operation - Detail" with a host selected, can someone explain me the differences between the "host demand" and the "Virtual Machines Demand" ?
I don't get why the sum of the VM demand isn't equal to the host demand (no even close !)
Here's a screenshot that illustrate my question : http://s30.postimg.org/5vkh4zx41/Host_vs_VM_Demand.jpg
Thank you.
Hm, is it possible that you have other VMs on that host which are not being monitored?
Or maybe some FT operations going on? (guessing here)
Thank you for responding so quickly,
I checked : All my VMs are being monitored by Vcops.
Does memory reservation affects the host demand ?
Edit : I have the same issue with the free version of Vcops monitoring another Vcenter.
I don't understand why I have this problem only for memory : http://s30.postimg.org/62vnv0qv5/Host_vs_VM_Demand_1.jpg
As you can see, the host demand for CPU is the sum of the VM CPU demand. But for memory, there is this problem.
I though memory reservation wasn't supposed to have an impact on demand, but when I lowered reservation on some VM, it lowered memory demand on the host.
Any idea of what can cause this difference between host and VM demand ?
This demand on this host is reflecting system usage due to, very possibly, your reservations. Regardless of what cap/plan model your using, demand or allocation, reservations are ALWAYS taken in to consideration.
