have pulled out the report for Virtual machines utilization but bit confused on CPU Usage (Avg) & CPU Usage (Peak), need to know how it can be converted into GHZ, as my configuration is as below
Physical machine is having 16 Core 2 Socket processor = 32 Core in total
Virtual machine is assigned with 4 vCPUs.
when report pulled from vROPS it shows as below
CPUs | CPU Usage (Avg) | CPU Usage (Peak) |
4 | 6 | 67 |
4 | 4 | 62 |
Hello @rahulhcl,
This value you are getting is in percentage, you could use also a CPU Metric for the Usage in MHz, and then if you need to change the metric to GHz. When you create a view for the report, search for "CPU" on the metrics and it will be there.
Hi Lalegre,
Thanks, here i would like to know with % only how it can be converted into GHz/MHz. How the CPU calculation will be by considering whether vCPU with Numbers of have to consider cores.
If you would like to check that, you need to know the speed in GHz that is currently assigned to a vCPU, this is the same value that is inherited from a pCPU. Then, what you could do is simple math, e.g:
If 1 vCPU has a speed of 3.2 Ghz and the utilization is 5% then = 3.2 * 5% = 0.16 GHz or 160 MHz.
Also, to confirm this, if you open a VM, you will see the value currently used and with that data, you will be able to simply correlate:
