Hi guys, i am currently a VCP and am looking to head towards becoming a VCDX.
Can anyone reccomend any good advanced books that i can read to help expand my knowledge of VMware??
Thanks in advance.
Simon
I am a big fan of VMware Infrastructure 3: Advanced Technical Design Guide and Advanced Operations Guide by Ron Oglesby, Scott Herold and Mike Laverick - (http://www.amazon.com/VMware-Infrastructure-Advanced-Technical-Operations/dp/0971151083/ref=sr_1_1/105-0545071-0206810?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1224637275&sr=1-1) It is my go to reference -

Texiwil's Book is also very good.
Thanks Chris
Do you think it would be more beneficial reading VMware documentation and white papers? I found this Post on Yellow Bricks which has some great resources on it:

I'm thinking they might be a bit more up to date?

Thats a good ammount of reading that Duncan suggests. They are also free
I'm not a huge fan of reading just PDF's personally , but they would certinaly help. The ATDG and Ed's books both cover some handy "real world" situations , so in that respect complement the whitepapers well.
Thanks again Chris, im gonna do both. Just need to find some time from somewhere to fit it all in.

Simon
I know the feeling - there's a lot to read and not enough hours in the day to do it!
A good delay at an airport usually does wonders for my reading quota
did you check out Peter van den Bosch study guide? The latest version of it is always linked to from the following post at my blog:
VMware VCDX Enterprise Exam 3.5 study guide.
By the way its free, and very helpfull. If you find it helpfull please award points by marking the answer as a solutions or helpfull.
Good Luck!!
