Can't get OpenGL 2.1 on Windows 7 x64 when using XPDM driver (Fusion 3.0.1)

Hi,

According to such threads as Fusion 3.0 supports only opengl 1.1.0 in Win 7 / Vista ?, to gain OpenGL 2.1 support it's possible to install the older XPDM graphics driver when running Fusion 3.0.1. This comes at the sacrifice of Aero, but that does not matter to me in this case.

I have followed the steps outlined in the above thread, but to no avail. In Device Manager it says that the XPDM driver is installed (VMware SVGA II), however, running OpenGL Extensions Viewer 3.0 tells me that I'm still stuck on OpenGL 1.1.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, especially if you've successfully done this.

System Info:

Host = Mac Pro 2008, Snow Leopard 10.6.2, Nvidia 8800GT, 6 GB Ram.

Guest = Windows 7 x64 RC1, 4 cores assigned, 2.5 GB ram

Thanks,

jeez

My apologies - it seems I must not have followed the correct procedure... thought I'd try it one more time, and it has worked!
