Fusion 2.04 Tools auto upgrade not occurring

I have updated VMware Fusion from 2.02 to 2.04.

Both Win XP & xubuntu 8.04 guests, with Tools 7.93 build 146107 already installed, have not auto upgraded their installed Tools at next power on of the guest.

The Win XP guest is not notifying a new Tools update is available, with this option checked.

Does this mean Tools has not been upgraded in this version change of Fusion or is auto upgrade failing due to a bug.

The informational messages that scroll in the lower left of a guest window do not state that "VMware Tools is out-of-date" either.

Auto upgrade of Tools has worked before in earlier versions of Fusion 2.0.X.

The Tools version in 2.04 is now 7.93-159196 which seems to imply an upgrade might be required.

VMware Tools has not changed from 2.0.2 -> 2.0.3 -> 2.0.4. The Tools version number is what triggers Tools upgrade, not the build number, and they all have the same Tools version 7.9.3. There is no need to upgrade your Tools going from 2.0.2 to 2.0.4.
