How to save display/monitor resloution settings

I'm using VMware fusion 2.0.1 on my Intel Mac.

Everytime I resume my suspended XP windows session, the windows xp resolution under 'Displays' control panel goes to 1024x627. And I like having it set to 1024x768....so I do that, hit 'Apply' and 'OK'. But if I close out of fusion, suspending the session and start it up at a later time, the Windows XP resolution is back to 1024x627.

I was hoping VMware fusion 2.0.3 might solve the problem, but from the release notes, I don't think it will. Darn.

I am using a 30in monitor and it's real annoying!

What is your host screen resolution? As a wild guess, it sounds like you're running on a (vertically) small monitor (a MacBook?) with a bunch of things showing (Dock, Fusion's toolbar and statusbar). OS X will automatically attempt to resize windows to avoid the Dock; hiding some of the options I named should help.
