Hi,
so I wanted to create a VM with the freshly released Debian 8 and searched around for whether this was supported on Fusion 7.
What I found was a "Guest OS Install Guide" which says that Debian 8 is supported only on ESXi 6.
That page also links to a Compatibility Guide for more information, which however only speaks about Debian 5 and Debian 6.
A third page contains instructions on how to actually install Debian 8 on Fusion 7, alone it doesn't work that way.
All three pages are on vmware.com sites, nothing strange from random sources.
So what gives? Is Debian 8 fully supported?
There shouldn't be any major differences to any other modern Linux distribution, just that the VMware tools work well.
