Lag in 2D Games, increasing performance?

Hi, I want to know if there's any way I could increase VM performance when playing games. I'm currently running a Windows 11 VM off of a M1 Pro Macbook. I've alotted four cores and 8gb of RAM and VRAM. I also downloaded and installed the VM Tools. I'm trying to run Prison Architect which is an x64 game. Is there any way I could increase performance as it lags very much and consistently.

In short, probably not.

Try turning off 3D acceleration and see if that makes any difference.

If it's related to the video drivers, VMware would have to improve the performance and features of their drivers in order to get improvement in 3D performance.

You also can;t dismiss problems with running x64 games on ARM. It would be very interesting to see what the performance would be on a Surface device running Windows 11 ARM to compare.

<opinion> VMware seems to caters to the professional developer, not the gamer. Unfortunately they don't seem to be very on top of tuning their virtual graphics for gaming use..</opinion>
