I've just installed a yosemite guest OS on a Yosemite host OS. There's a consierable lag on key press in the VM, maybe close to one second, which is obviously making it unusable.
I've installed the VM ware tools. I'm running full screen on a single external display on a mac mini. The CPU activity on both host and guest (in Activity Monitor) is fairly low. I've tried a few different configurations in terms of the amount of Ram and CPUs assigned to the guest OS, but no change has had any effect on keyboard lag.
The host has 4 cores and 8GB ram. My current configuration is for 4GB RAM and 2 core assigned to the guest OS. I've turned on 3D acceleration, but other than that haven't touched any other settings.
Is this keyboard lag expected/unavoidable?
