I can't start any virtual machine after updating to 17.5.0

VMware Fusion Professional Version 13.5.0 (22583790) reports the following on macOS 13.5.2 (22G91) Ventura on iMac 27-inch Retina 5K display 4.2 GHz Intel Core i7 7th-generation, when opening Windows 10 ×64 or Ubuntu 22.04 LTS Jammy Jellyfish:

serial: Parameter "serial.fileType" has an invalid value
"thinprint"
Virtual device 'serial' will start disconnected.
