Removed wrong virtual hard drive

I had added a second virtual hard drive to fusion and later decided to remove it but instead accidentally removed the original hard drive with the xp boot partition. Is there an easy way to restore this drive?

Does anyone know if I can just edit the .vmx file to correct this?

Yes you can edit the .vmx file to correct this.

Open the .vmx file and search for something like scsi0:0.present = "FALSE" and change it to "TRUE". It should have scsi0:0.file = "yourfile.vmdk" where yourfile is the disk that you want.

Hope that helps.

Thanks. I ended up restoring from a time machine backup.
