Hi All,
Problem:
After installing 8.5.0 "The Energy Impact" of wmware fusion has gone from '83' to 120 in the 'Energy' tab in Mac Activity Monitor.
Use:
I usually run one Windows 10 and one Windows Server 2012 with SQL Server 2016 in the background, and the fan was very quiet with the 8.0.2 version. The fan barely started. Now the processor us running many more cycles with the new version, and the fan has started to constantly running due to the spiike in the Energy tab on the Mac. Nothing else has changed.
Thanks for your insight....

Hi psolli,
Welcome to Fusion Community.
I refer you to this post recently, hope it is helpful:
Fans spinning up with 8.5, El Capitan Host, Win 7 Guest

Hi DarcyzDarcyz
I tried to uninstall and reinstall according to the knowledgebase. This did NOT solve the problem. In the latest version i had, 8.2(I think) was extremely energy efficient, and the fan was never running. I was actually surprised how energy efficient this version was compared to 6.0, 7.0 and the other 8.x version.
Now with 8.5, the enrgy levels are up, and fan is running constantly like the 6.0 version. I hope the Development team will take a look at this.
Anybody have other experiences???
Thanks,
Per
