VMWare Fusion Beta 4 - Bridged Networking

Hi,

I am running beta 4 of VMWare Fusion on OS X 10.4.9 Server on XServe. I have created two virtual machines Vista Business Edition and Vista 64bit. Both VM's will work fine in NAT mode, but will not work correctly in bridged network mode. These VM's need to be accessible to other machines on the network and so I need to figure out how to get this working.

If I configure bridged networking then the VM's will be assigned an IP address and I can ping any network internal or external and resolve DNS names. However I cannot access a web page, can't access windows shares (but it will prompt for a username and password). Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do? If I change this back to NAT then it all works fine.

Thanks in advance,

Pete.

This sounds like something external is interfering, such as a firewall.

Have you tried troubleshooting with Tracert, Nbtstat and Net View?

Some Fusion doc on networking would be greatly appreciated.

You might want to check out my thread at http://www.vmware.com/community/thread.jspa?threadID=88502 - perhaps your problems are related to strange MTU behavior, too.
