Windows 7: 32-bit or 64-bit version?

Hello everyone,

I have the first unibody MBP (Core Duo 2).

My question is: I'm planning to buy Fusion 3, and also Windows 7 - do I go for the 32-bit or 64-bit version? Is the 64-bit version noticeably faster or better in any way?

Many thanks for your help,

Anthony

Hi, Anthony

Well the reference for my awnser is that I have a MBP2.2 (C2D 2.33Ghz 3GB RAM, 500GB 7200rpm) and i'm using 64bit Windows 7 version and it works great.

I just had i minor problem booting the dvd with bootcamp but it occurs only with some older macbook pro's as of mine. Yours should not be affected.

The 64 bit version should be your choice since your using VMware Fusion with support for 64bit guest OS.

And the 64 bit version should be faster and is a better choice since we're moving into the future and 64 bit computers all the way to our end user applications.

But reserve the condition that you might be in need to use older external equipment that won't have 64 bit drivers and therefor might cause a issue using Windows 7 64 bit.

Hope the x64 version does you good.

Best Regards /

Martin
