Windows Vista Ultimate VM

Hi,

Have just installed this on my MBP through VMware and have noticed the following:

a) No audio available on the guest OS. Sound is ticked in the settings - any ideas?

b) Unity is not available to access - installed VMware Tools but Unity button is greyed out - any ideas?

Thanks.

See the online help in Troubleshooting or the release notes for more details on having Windows Update download the sound drivers for Vista.

What is the version number of tools installed? Check the About tab in Tools in the VM. That would be helpful to know.

Hi Pat,

As I am at work at the moment, are you able to let me know what it should be, so that Unity is available with my MS Vista Ultimate guest OS?

Thanks.

I've just downloaded RC1, running Vista Ultimate x64 retail with VMWare Tools 7.3.0. So far, so good, including sound.

Hi,

Audio is now working fine.

FYI, my version of VMware Tools is as follows:

VMware Tools for Windows

Version 7.3.0, build-49528

Is this the correct version that incorporates Unity?

Thanks.

Hi all - all working fine now - had the wrong version.

Can someone who is using Vista OS please tell me where the following file is:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\VMware\VMware Tools\tools.conf

I can't even find the Documents and Settings directory?

Thanks.
