moving vm file

I have a software program that I'm using in windows in fusion.

The software has a hardware generated code which i have a license for.

I want to be able to copy the VM file from my imac when i go on vacation

so i can load it on my families mac mini to still work when i'm away would this

be possible? Or would running the main VM file made on my imac cause

the program to generate a new code once opened on the mini?

Has anyone had success moving there VM to another machine and

not had problems with there registered software?

Thanks for any help you can offer

When you move the VM from one machine to another, move the whole VM bundle not just the virtual disk (VMDK). When Fusion asks if you moved or copied, answer that you 'moved' the virtual machine and it will not change the machine UUID or Mac address is what most licensing schemes tie off of.
