upgraded to 2.0.5 and now Redhat becomes unresponsive

OS X 10.5.8, VM 2.0.5

Yesterday I upgraded to 2.0.5 (and it added the latest MacFuse, what ever that is) and now Redhat becomes unresponsive after a few min.

After many tedious experiments, here is what happens:

start VMware, which starts Redhat (CentOS)

login, start emacs. Think for a moment

then I can't get a response -- mouse cursor moves but will not select a buffer in emacs or from the menu bar. it does let me get to the Mac menu bar, but about all that is left to do is quit VMware and try again.

ideas?

Update: this problem -- unresponsive/frozen VM -- also happens in v2.0.4

I backed up one version and got the same behavior: after 3 min. or so all I can do is quite VMware.
