Increase TCP connection timeout to 10 hours

Hello All,

There is a requirement to increase the TCP connection from 60 seconds to 10 hours in the application profile configuration in NSX-T load balancer (native).

There is valid reason for this request, I have checked in NSX-T and technicaly it is possible to extend the timeout value up to 36, 0000 seconds.

However I would like to understand the pros and cons for this change – i.e. the impact may be the Edge nodes where the LB service running – example, it may increase the queue length in Edge node and it would lead to the bad performance.

Kindly let me know your suggestions if you come across to the same requirement

Thanks,

This means the session will stay longer, if the edge form factor is not sized accordingly, most likely there will be performance issues.

Yes, we want to keep the session open for 10 hours.
We are using large size Edge node - two node edge cluster. Is there any way to find/identify the maximum idle session support by VMware?
Or is it possible to test the scenario in test environment before implement in production?

Thanks,
