Cannot add an advanced parameter to VM when powered on (in 7.0U3d) ?

Hi,

I set some advanced parameters via PowerCLI on VMs, and I noticed in vSphere 7.0U3d that it now returns an error that the VM cannot be powered on anymore??

For example setting parameter "isolation.tools.copy.disable":

I validated this in 7.0U2d where it is no problem to set while the VM is powered on?!

Background:
This is to apply for example the security setting for DISA STIG control VMCH-70-000001.
This control even states how this parameter can be set, with the following note:

"Note: The VM must be powered off to configure the advanced settings through the vSphere Web Client so it is recommended to configure these settings with PowerCLI as it can be done while the VM is powered on. Settings do not take effect via either method until the virtual machine is cold started, not rebooted."

Any suggestions highly appreciated!

This just looks like they closed a backdoor, and forgot to update some documentation that referred to that backdoor.
