Not in 4.0. It's on the roadmap for a subsequent release. This is based on a limitation of vSphere API.

No, there is no remote way to do this AFAIK.

Carter,

Will there be a way to place a host in lockdown mode via powershell in future versions of ESXi (4??)? In order to fully automate esx host configurations this will be needed.

Thanks,

Tim

Thanks Carter. Bad news that it will not be available in 4.0. Good to know it is on the roadmap as this will have to be a manual step in what we hope will be fully automated process.

I have another post concerning esxcfg-route if you have info on that post.

Thanks,

Tim
