Ever since VMware remote console stopped working and started working again (see https://communities.vmware.com/t5/VMware-PowerCLI-Discussions/Configure-Open-VMConsoleWindow/m-p/300...) it does not display the name of the VM it is connected to.
Any ideas?
Check the version of VMtools installed (should be installed) for the VM to which you are connecting.
According to vCenter they are current and came with ESXi 7.0.3.
Anyway, VMRC used to show the name of the VM. It only stopped after the events described in the linked post.
Why would vmtools matter? The console should show the name of the VM even if there are no vmtools available, shouldn't it?
