USB ports are not available

My host is a Toshiba laptop with Ws 7. The USB ports are fully operational. However, with Player they are not; e.g., XHDD is not found under "XP's" My Computer.

What needs to be done so I can make use of the USB ports?

Hi Redoak716,

You just need to add a USB Controller to your virtual machine hardware configuration. Check that VMware tools are installed and running in the guest.

Once your VM is up and your USB disk connected to the host, attach it to the guest using the devices control panel on the bottom right of the console screen. It will be detached from the host as it can't be used by both systems at the same time.

Hope it helps.

Franck
