Hello,

there are lots of factors which can impact VM performance. Did you have a look on the Performance graphics ?

It can be a CPU or RAM contention, Network or Storage Latency, etc

The issue could also come from the Guest OS itself or the application running.

Are you experience the performance issues on other VMs on the same ESXi?

Host OS and version?

Workstation version?

Guest OS and version?  Problem with a single guest or multiple/all guests?

Is it a newer CPU?  There are known issues and workarounds with Intel 12gen and newer, for one example.

Host OS : Windows 10 Enterprise,
Version : 21H2 ,
Workstation version: 17.0.2 build-21581411
Guest Os : Windows 10 Enterprise, Version : 21H2,
Problem with the single guest
CPU processor : 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1185G7 @ 3.00GHz 1.80 GHz
Ram : 32 GB , 16 gb allocated for VM ware.

My vmware work station directory : C:\Users\Amit_Kumar5\Documents\Virtual Machines\Ubuntu 64-bit, 

and its taken around 78 gb of space now sure why?

Attaching the screen shot for my wmware workstation directory, please have a look.

I am very much impacted from this issue its very difficult to work, Please guide me how to fix such problems.

Confused - you say guest is Windows 10 but you show files for a VM labeled Ubuntu x64.

Do yourself a huge favor and turn on file extensions for known types.  Explorer-->View-->Options-->Change folder and search options.  View tab.  Uncheck "hide extensions for known file types".  

Looking at the screenshot doesn't look out of the ordinary.

Do you need 16 GB of RAM allocated to your VM?  How many CPUs allocated?  Rule of thumb is to keep the VM resources as small as possible.

Confused - you say guest is Windows 10 but you show files for a VM labeled Ubuntu x64 - Ubuntu x64 is the folder name in windows 10 where vm ware has installed.

Attached the screen shot, have a look.

This is the development machine, so its required 16GB of Ram to do the daily activity.

There are 2 CPU processors are allocated for that.
