Host Machine Blue Screen when starting a VM

I  have VMWare Workstation Pro 14.1.8 running on Windows 10 Pro 20H2.

CPU: Ryzen 5950x

GPU: ASUS Stratix GTX 3070

This is a brand new build.

Whenever I attempt to run a VM my host machine blue screens and gives an error of System_service_exception

I need to fix this fast for work, does anyone know what might be causing it?  Is it just the my version of VMWare is too old to work with the latest from AMD?  Because if all it takes to fix it is an upgrade to the latest version of VMWare that's fine by me.

Workstation 14 is a bit old – easiest would probably be if you install Workstation 16 to see if it solves your problem (it'll work a month without registration).
