Monterey VMs suddenly stopped working

I have Workstation 17 Pro and the latest version of Unlocker. Two days ago my Monterey VMs abruptly stopped working. I'm guessing a Workstation update has messed them up (my Windows VMs are fine). I've followed the instructions from dozens of online sources to try to create a new, working Monterey VM, but depending on how I tweak the settings or edit the .vmx file, I end up in a boot loop or stuck at the apple logo. No Recovery file is available. I also often see the error message "The CPU Has Been Disabled By The Guest OS". I really have no idea what's going on. Help!

VMware does not support Mac OS on Workstation nor does it provide assistance on hacking Workstation to do so. Apple’s EULA does not allow the use of macOS on non-Apple hardware.

You won’t get help in a VMware sponsored forum for hacking their software with unsupported modifications and violating another vendor’s licensing agreements. This discussion is against the terms of service for these forums.

I’ve asked a moderator to lock this topic.
