Reducing the footprint of a workstation hard disk

Hi All

I can recall a few years back that I managed to reduce the size of a virtual disk on the hard drive without shrinking it or removing data - I believe it was something to do with VMware tool i used followed by an offline defrag - can someone remind me how to do this ?

I would like the 30GB D drive to remain 30GB - I am not trying to reduce the space of the drive - just reduce the amount of space it uses on the physical disk

cheers

Just use the VMware Tools applet to defragment and shrink your virtual disk.
