Using a USB Inkjet Printer on Workstation 6.5.1

My inkjet printer prints OK from the guest, but I do not get any printer status (like ink levels, printer online, etc), all I get is a printer not responding message.

Guest is Win 2K Pro SP4 2GB virtual RAM, upgraded to 6.5 and current VMWare tools installed

Host is Athlon 64 X2 8GB RAM, Host OS is Win XP SP2 64 bit, VMWare Workstation 6.5.1

My only work-around so far was to connect the USB printer to another host and network it, but I would like to know why the virtual USB port is not bi-directional

Yes the bidirectional port is enabled, it just does not seem to work in a bidirectional fashion. Do we have a software bug here?

Forgot to attach the vmx file

I did a fresh printer install again. Plug & Play does not pick it up like on a hardware PC, the USB port was installed manually. My new host is 64 bit, and this printer only has 32 bit drivers, so this is the only way I can use the printer.
