VMware 6 WS does not recognise SATA DVDRW on host machine!

VMware 6 WS does not recognise my ASUS SATA DVD Burner as a CDROM so I can not install anything at this moment. How can I solve this problem. Ive tryed something such as set up from cdrom settings and chosed my drive label but still ddint work.

I would first upgrad VMWare to v.6.02.

You can also create and ISO of the media you are trying to install. Then use the USE ISO image feature under the CDROM properties.

Please post the .vmx file from the virtual machine.

Did you try turning off "Auto Detect" and select the physical drive" in the virtual CD-ROM settings?

Change the VM configuration to use a virtual SCSI CD-ROM drive and your burner should be good to go.

Of course you will need to clean up your current .vmx file since I can see you have been experimenting with different IDE settings

Hi Kevin,

Ive done that you have advised but still not working. I just tryed IDE cdrom and worked fine. I don't know or understand why its not accepting that.
