[WMware Workstation] iSCSI disk as disk of virtual machine

Host OS: Windows 7 x64

I create an iSCSI lun on my NAS and mounted it with the iSCSI client of Windows. To check functionality I initialized, partitioned and formatted the disk.

In my virtual machine I tried to add a new device - disk - advanced - physical disk - (choose the iSCSI disk).

When I try to save I get an "Internal error".

The same happens on existing virtual machines or if I create a new one.

Using VMware Workstation 8.0.2

Any help?

any other way to mount directly on the VM the iSCSI LUN? (I was not able to find it)

Thanks,

M

Just ot be clear:

1) I would prefer to directly mount the iSCSI LUN

2) second option (what I was trying to do) is to mount it as a physical disk, using the iSCSI client of windows

the third option could be to create a vdisk in the LUN but I think that is bad for performances Smiley Sad
