Running 6.5.3 on W7 x64 Ultimate and created a VM of the same (W7 Ult. x64).
Aero glass does not work in VM at all.
Video has issues drawing when full HW acceleration is on. For an example, try installing Microsoft Expression Studio 3 Trial. Generally, video and performance inside the VM seems best the more I turn off Hardware Accelleration (i.e. less acceleration = more performance). Does not matter if VMware tools running or not (i.e. same issues).
Q9550, nVidia 8800GTS, 8GB RAM on host, both host and guest running on (separate) SSD drives.
All other things so far perform just fine.
Perhaps pin this item and update it as things move forward there at VMware.
