sheard network connection

can anyone please tell me how i can connect the virtual machine with the host pc so that it can shear the internet connection and the network the host pc uses.

i use vmware workstation 5.5

Configure the VM to use NAT networking.

Inside the VM configure DHCP.

Depends on the guest OS you have, most default to using DHCP. Vmware on installation generates a free range that it detects so typically you have little to do.

Be sure to change the config of your guests network while its switched off, or know how to release and renew your IP lease.

In the TCP/IP properties of the LAN connection choose "automatically assigned" for the IP address and the DNS server.

This is the default setting.
