hi everyone,
could it be that the virtual installation of ubuntu 12.04 in vmware workstation 8 comes with some sort of restricted graphics? because my virtual installation differs from a native installation in 2 points:
- the alt-tab window that shows a list of all open windows using icons is merely a small grey box and doesn't look at all the way it does in a native installation (another issue with this one: http://communities.vmware.com/message/2068874#2068874)
- i'm not able to resize a window to full size by dragging it to the top of the screen, or to resize it to a half of the screen by dragging it to a side of the screen.
all in all it seems that many of the graphics-stuff doesn't seem to work properly in my virtual ubuntu, and i have absolutely no clue as to why this is the case. i'm running on a hp elitebook 8540w, with nvidia quadro fx 1800M as graphics card. is there perhaps some incompatibilty? or is there some other reason with all this someone could help me with?
