Can we do Host Firmware upgrade from Vcenter

HI Team,

Can we upgrade the ESXi Host firmware from Vcenter server itself...? If we can upgrade from vCenter please let me know the process for the UCS Blade server's.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks,

Sravana Jella

You have to use UCS manger to upgrade the firmware on your UCS blades.  You can not do it from vCenter.

Thanks for you quick response.

Is it only for UCS or any other Blades as well. I mean IBM, HP, Dell.?

I read somewhere once that you used to be able to do it on ESX servers, but VMware removed the commands in ESXi to be able to do it.  So now you have to do it from the manufacture tool.

Also, please don't forget to mark correct or helpful answers.  Thanks.
