Hi,
Apologies in advance for a strange question:
Which version of vCenter Server should I use for my ESXi 5.1 Build 799733 Host?
What is the most stable release?
I have noted that vCenter Server 5.1 U1 has been released about a week ago but not sure if the company would want to install something this new into the production environment.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

Hi,
I'd review the "fixes" list and see if any relate/could potentially relate to your current environment
If not hold off for a couple of wks just in case there is any "emergency" hotfixes published over the next couple of wks.

You can use vCenter 5.1 or vCenter 5.1 U1 to manage the ESXi host . Make a practise to check the VMware Prodcut Interoperability Matrix to check the product compatiabillity

Read the, whats new, release fixes and known issue of both the release and choose the one which you feel is better
Thanks Guys.
Business is not keen on going for the most recent release so looks like I will be going with VMware vCenter Server 5.1.0b been out for a while.
Any advise or suggestions with this one?
There is a known issue with vCenter 5.1 Update 1, relating to user accounts being member of more than 19 groups.
Kindly check before going ahead
