Fileencryption, anti malware & virtual environment

Hi,

I am just tossing this one out there, to hear if anyone has a solution that they use, or have any input in this regard.

We are running multiple virtual environments for clients of all shapes and sizes, now we face a new threat for the stability of the virtualised machines. It's called malware in form of encrypting servers by users who wrongfully click something they shouldn't have, thinking it was alright to do so, and to execute bad things. The results are always that all drives they have access to are encrypted and they now face a demand to send money to the "bad guys" to gain access to their files again. Stupid I know. And it normally result in us recovering the servers/wks completely and we are back to normal. Now the best thing would be to stop this from happening in the first place.

Now have any of you experienced something similar, and what have you done to prevent such things from happening ? Any one know of a good anti malware program suited for virtual environments ? Any suggestions in this regards or good tips ?

Kind regards,

SC
