Red hat update open-vm-tools show only old version

Hi,

i have a problem with open-vm-tools in redh hat, i can only find version 11.0.5-3.el7_9.9 in redhat repositories, i can't find the 12.3.x version.

After upgrade to 11.0.5-3.el7_9.9, the release date show me

Install Date: Mon. 04 dec. 2023 11:07:13 +01
Build Date : Thu. 02 nov. 2023 13:29:35 +01

Im confused if 11.0.5-3.el7_9.9 is the latest, or i need to do something to get the 12.3.0 version to avoid the new vulnerabilities.

Hi,

based in the "el7" in the rpm package name I guess you are indeed using RHEL7?

open-vm-tools 12.X will not be released to RHEL7 as stated in this article: https://access.redhat.com/solutions/6972129

You are using the most recent version available for RHEL7.

Lukas
