Temporary IP - Upgrade vCenter 7.0

Hello,

The upgrade process for vCenter asks for a temporary IP, my question is if that temporary IP must be registered in my DNS server?

Or is it not necessary to register?

I did not register mine. I just used the IP Address and not FQDN. After the upgrade is complete you won't need the number again. Here's some documentation: https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-vSphere/7.0/com.vmware.vcenter.upgrade.doc/GUID-24D34C53-B00E-47B7...

The temporary IP does not need a DNS entry.
