VMware Tools mouse integration breaks after VM migration

vSphere 7.0U3, vSAN cluster on 4 Dell/EMC hosts (non-VXrail), with a single vCenter appliance managing.

vCenter: 7.0.3 build 21784236

ESXi: VMware ESXi, 7.0.3, 21686933

I've specifically noticed it with a Win10 guest OS, but believe it happens with Server 2019 as well. VMware tools is installed (12357). The mouse integration works perfectly. I can move the mouse outside of the VMRC window and interact with my laptop OS without escaping (Ctrl+Alt) out of the VMRC window.

If the VM is migrated from one ESXi host to another (all running the same build), mouse integration stops working, i.e. mouse movement is stuttered, and I must hit Ctrl+Alt to escape out of the VMRC window to interact with my laptop again.

The only way I know to correct this is to reboot the VM.

How do I get VMware Tools on the guest OS to continue working properly after VM migration between hosts?

Hello,

it seems to be a new bug. Did you report it to VMware Support team?

You can do it via a standard Support Request.

Maybe someone from VMware will know from here.
