Vcenter time sync

Hi,

We have a closed environment with windows domain controllers.

I thought I had configured the ESXi hosts to have correct time, but they are 1 hour wrong.

I guess the best way is to configure a NTP server, but we don`t have access outside.

How should I configure the environment, since the domain computers are syncing with the PDC emulator that run on the DC, and I guess ESXi / vCenter does not support W32Time service ?

Thanks for reply.

Hi,

Thanks for reply. I can see from that document that it enables the DC as a NTP server I guess, but it asks to configure upstream NTP servers and that we cannot do since we don`t have access to the outside world. If we do setup this connection, it will never validate, should we point it to 127.0.0.1 instead ? For example  127.0.0.1,0x1 or should we drop to specify upstream NTP servers ?

Well, all time has to come, eventually, from an authoritative upstream source. If you don't have that you don't effectively have NTP so you're just going to have to cheat and see if it works for you.
